The Treasury Department and IRS recently released the long-awaited proposed regulations for implementing opportunity zones, a new type of economic development incentive created by the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017. NAHB's tax policy experts have prepared an FAQ that explains the proposed opportunity zone rule.
Settlement Puts an End to 'Persuader Rule'
The Department of Labor on Nov. 9 agreed to a legal settlement that keeps a permanent injunction in place that stops the "persuader rule" from taking effect and prevents a future administration from seeking to revive the rule. The ruling is a victory for NAHB and its members.
