2013 has been an exciting time for BRANNJ. I am pleased to report that have strengthened our financial position and that we have added new members. We have fulfilled our goals of hosting interesting, informative and entertaining events that have increased BRANNJ’s reputation as an essential player in the building industry in Northern New Jersey. For instance, our Superstorm Sandy panel in October demonstrated the expertise and knowledge that BRANNJ can gather together for the benefit of its members. We had a distinguished panel of engineers, financial experts and lawyers both from our local and from the New Jersey Home Builders (NJBA) that was able to provide guidance through the maze of programs and regulations that are in place. Another great example of what I feel encapsulates the spirit of our association was the Texas Hold ‘Em event hosted by our chairman, Glen Lumia and his wife Donna at their home. Their hospitality, along with the efforts of board members Arnie DeMasi and Don DiNovi , who led the team that made incredible homemade food, showed the sense of community that our association has, and what we can achieve by working together.
Our Board of Directors is stronger than ever, with several newer members taking leadership positions, and a solid core of BRANNJ veterans leading key committees (to join a BRANNJ committee, click here). In the coming year, we hope to launch a student chapter at local universities to engage and mentor the newest members of our industry. Our “Premier Partners” program, initiated several years ago, is thriving, and we have inaugurated a new category, “Club 44” for companies who support the important role BRANNJ has in the building industry.
It is with great enthusiasm and pride that I look forward to being your President in 2014. Together, we will make this another great year for BRANNJ.
