President's Message
Fall events have begun, and many thanks to Victoria
Reczkowski of Ferguson for hosting our September 8th Lunch &
Learn OSHA Update seminar at their Megahub Training Center in Secaucus.
Thank you to our attendees who filled the room, and thanks to our speakers,
Dennis Dougherty of Liberty Mutual and Associate Member, Richard Gaynor of
Middleton & Company, for presenting some very valuable information for our
builder and associate members and guests to take back to their companies
regarding new increased penalties as well as potential criminal indictments for
failure to comply.
Special thanks to Glen and Donna Lumia of Creative Design Construction who hosted another fantastic Texas Hold Em fall fundraiser at their beautiful home on September 23rd. Over 90 attendees enjoyed their wonderful hospitality including a great tournament, networking, beer and a delicious BBQ dinner prepared by chef Arnie DeMasi of DeMasi Construction and President, Don DiNovi of Ulrich, Inc. Then we have two favorite events of the year—Reno’s Annual Pre-Holiday Building Industry Networking Party on November 17th and the Annual Winter Showcase & Beefsteak Night at The Brownstone on December 1st.

Congratulations Congressman Rodney Frelinghuysen (R-NJ):
The Builders and Remodelers Association of Northern New Jersey (BRANNJ) has given Rep. Frelinghuysen the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Defender of Housing Award. The award recognizes courageous federal
legislators who have demonstrated strong support for housing and NAHB positions
on key issues facing the industry. These legislators recognize housing’s
significant role within the U.S. economy and continually shows a strong commitment
to affordable housing and consumer choice. The award, fashioned in the
likeness of a traditional house key, is awarded biannually.
