As we welcome in a new season in our new  normal,  I hope that all members and their families are doing well.  There are still a few spaces available for golfers at our Annual Golf Outing at White Beeches Golf & Country Club on Monday, September 28th.

Join us for this favorite event and play at a beautiful private club while enjoying an outdoor, socially distanced business-oriented day of fun.  Premium sponsorships are a great way to market your company to Northern NJ building industry professionals!  Register by September 11th by emailing this form to kathleen@bannj.org or online at https://members.bannj.org/events.

The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), part of our 3 in 1 membership, is holding a national fall membership drive from September through November 2020 where participating local associations will receive monetary awards for increases in membership numbers. To that end, BANNJ is also holding a membership drive to benefit our members who help recruit during this time period by discounting membership dues renewal invoices as follows:

$50 off  for 1 new member brought in

$150 off for 2 new members

$300 off for 3 new members

$400 off for 4 new members and free membership renewal dues of $753 for 5 or more new members brought into the association during the drive.

We hope you will all join in to help our association grow and earn rewards for your company in the process!

September has been officially declared Associate Appreciation Month from NAHB. As BANNJ President I'd like to thank all off our associate members for helping us be the best we can. Your membership is appreciated and your voluneteerism, as well as your financial investment in BANNJ, is deeply value.

NAHB Podcast: What a Biden-Harris Presidential Ticket Could Mean for Housing

In this week’s episode of Housing Developments, NAHB CEO Jerry Howard and Chief Lobbyist Jim Tobin discuss the 2020 Democratic presidential ticket of former Vice President Joe Biden and Sen. Kamala Harris. Plus, a glimpse ahead to the 2024 elections.

Home prices show signs of recovery, rising 4.3% in June, according to Case-Shiller index

Home prices rose 4.3% annually in June, unchanged from the gain seen in May, according to the S&P CoreLogic Case-Shiller U.S. National Home Price NSA Index.

New home sales leap to highest in nearly 14 years as market thrives on low mortgage rates

Sales of new homes in the US soared to their highest level since December 2006 in July as Americans took advantage of historically low interest rates.

Home prices reach record high

The median sales price for an existing home reached a record level of $304,100 in July, going above $300,000 for the first time in history, according to the National Association of Realtors. July’s median sales price increase was the 101st month of gains when comparing year-over-year prices.

For millennials who want to buy a home right now, the Great Recession still looms large

If the Great Recession never happened, how would potential homebuyers be looking at today’s housing market? After all, the giant cohort of potential homebuyers now in their late 20s and early 30s was also the generation fresh out of college trying to find a job as the market was crashing in 2008.

‘The housing market is on a sugar high’: Home sales are soaring, but is it a good time to buy? Here’s what the experts say

Americans are rushing to buy homes right now. But should you be one of them? Sales of previously-owned homes in the U.S. rose 24.7% between June and July to a seasonally-adjusted annual rate of 5.86 million, the National Association of Realtors reported Friday. Not only did the percentage increase represent a record, but the sales volume was the highest the U.S. has seen since 2006.
