2017 BRANNJ President, Anthony Volpe |
For those of you who may not know
how I landed upon BRANNJ I feel compelled to share my experience the last
several years as a member and officer.
Five years ago I was introduced to my mentor Jeff Mathieu thru a mutual
friend. That friend said to me “you know
you really need to meet my friend Jeff not only would you really like him I
think you would be very interested in the Builders Association he is involved
in and be a great asset”. Little did I
know meeting Jeff in Starbucks that that day that Chairman Mathieu would say “I
would like to see you as the president of our association and I’d like to introduce
you to our President Glen Lumia.”
The
introduction to Glen was actually a reintroduction as we knew one another in
our High School years. What I wasn’t
prepared for and what I most admire about these two gentlemen is how hard they ensure
BRANNJ’s Seventy plus year legacy remain vibrant with leadership that shares the
vision of its founders.
Jeff, Glen,
Charles and Don have all been Presidents during my years as an officer and
member and each has carried the torch for BRANNJ and worked tirelessly to
ensure its goals and objectives continue to be met all while setting the bar a
bit higher each year so to challenge each new incoming President.
This same level of commitment and dedication I
have witnessed in all our officers, master sponsors, sponsors, EO Kathleen
Kurpiel and associates who support all our programs and initiatives and in my
eyes each is a representative President of BRANNJ.
Well it’s my turn, my turn to
give back to an organization that is an advocate, an educator, a resource, a conduit
to health care, a business network, a group of new and old friends, and a
charitable organization and it is my hope that during my presidency I can
empower our existing and new membership to raise the bar and in that vein my
first order of business as your President is to ask for your assistance and all
place a hand on the BRANNJ torch to collectively improve our industry association
as we move forward.
