Our hearts are with our fellow members and all those
affected by the devastation of Hurricane Harvey. If any of our members would
like to donate or help with the relief efforts, NAHB has compiled a list of
ways to do so at NAHB Hurricane Harvey Relief Information. As a new season begins, we have
several excellent fall events coming up. We still have a few tickets
available for our new event, “Spirits & Cigars Under the Stars” on
Thursday, September 14th, so don’t miss it.
Thanks to
all of our generous sponsors who have signed on so far (see sponsor form
below), and a complete list will be in our next issue. As your host at
Ragazzi Lounge, I look forward to seeing many of our members there! Next
month, we have our annual joint meeting with the National Kitchen & Bath
Association of Northern NJ, hosted by BRANNJ Associate VP, Victoria Reczkowski
of Ferguson, at their beautiful new showroom in Ramsey, NJ. Be sure to
attend and mingle with other building industry professionals and increase your
skills and business development with a seminar from our speaker on “Designers,
Contractors and Architects: Creating Relationships and Partnerships for
Referrals and Business Success”. It is sure to be a valuable and
informative meeting.

Belvedere of Belvedere Building & Contracting who spearheaded and worked
with BRANNJ over the summer on the Tools for School campaign for the Center for
Food Action to supply Bergen County children in need with new backpacks and
schools supplies to start the new school year. Finally, associate member,
California Closets, is participating in the October 1st Free to
Breathe Walk for lung cancer. See below for details about the event and to
register and/or donate.

Tools for School - Many thanks
to all who donated backpacks and school supplies for the kids at the Center for
Food Action. Yesterday at the CFA pantry in Englewood, we set up a little
Backpack store and as clients came in to pick up their groceries, we asked them
if they needed backpacks for their kids and many did. I helped one woman pick
Frozen Backpacks and Lunch boxes for her girls. She cried a little as she told
me her story. A single Mom of twin 7 year old girls, she worked 2 jobs and
still had difficulties making ends meet. She was so happy and thankful for the
new Backpacks and school supplies for her girls. That's what it's all about;

Ruthie & Marty Ginsberg started
California Closets of North Jersey in 1984 and their company has been a BRANNJ
member for many years. Ruthie was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer over 4
years ago. She and Marty in retirement are this year’s honorary Co-chairs of
the Free to Breathe North Jersey event.
