As I step into this leadership role, I would like to address some of the ongoing concerns in our industry and why I am incredibly optimistic about the future of BANNJ. First, I would like to extend my appreciation for the BANNJ Board and membership for granting me the opportunity to further develop the association, replacing the outstanding leadership of John Cioletti.
As incoming President, my goal is not solely to focus on the positives and the future. There are real challenges facing our economy and industry, and those should not be glossed over. Rising material prices, material shortages, gas prices, etc. So, when asked why I am choosing to get more involved with this association, these issues affecting our industry are exactly the reasons.
I use the term “our industry” on purpose. It is our industry because of the builders that step up and take on the risk in up and down markets. It is our industry because of the vendors and suppliers needed for homes to be built. It is our industry because the homes we build house the families that make this nation run.
Are the challenges that face us today sometimes scary? Yes. But we have seen challenges before. We have gotten through them and are better for them. From market crashes to fuel embargos, we have always found a way to survive. And this industry has not only survived but become more innovative as a result.
As I become President of BANNJ, I want to give you hope. The hope that tomorrow will be brighter than today. With a dedication to 3 goals, I believe we can not only show there is hope, we can also enlist others to take their journey with us. I will work hard with our team of amazing and dedicated members to:
1. Build a stronger membership base in all four counties.
2. Create more value for our members and show then we are fighting for their future.
3. Invigorate the membership through exciting events.
I want to take the momentum John has created and build BANNJ into an organization that people want to be a part of. I believe if we concentrate our effort into these 3 goals, the energy we create will attract more builders, more vendors, and more suppliers. We will do our very best to ignite the spark of hope.
This is our industry. Let’s make an impact!

The National Associate Chairman at NAHB is the leading voice for Associate members at the national level. It gives you a seat on the Board of Directors, and a prominent voice with the senior officers as well as working with 15 National Area Chairmen, all builder leaders from around the country, in positioning our Federation for success. On January 26th, Rich Robinson, our Associate Vice President here at Northern, was elected by Associate members from across the country to be the National Associate Chairman. Rich is only the second associate from New Jersey to serve in this role. Congratulations Rich, we are very proud of you!
